+ HAPPY FEET
As an athlete, you know how
important it is to keep your feet healthy; after all, you do
use them on every play. Athlete’s foot is one of the most
common, and most irritating, issues for athletes – and a
great way to ruin a season. Try these six tips to keep your
feet happy and healthy and on the court or field.
1 Sprinkle powder on your toes before you put your socks and shoes on to help keep your feet dry during workouts
2 Change into a dry pair of socks after practice or a workout.
3 Air out your shoes and cleats between uses. The optimal time for airing out is 24 hours, but even less
time makes a difference
4 Wear cotton or moisture-wicking socks to help keep your feet dry.
5 Wear dry socks around the locker room to protect your feet from contracting the athlete’s foot fungus through
contact with the floor.
6 Wear shower shoes of some sort when you shower in the locker room after workouts, practices or games.
If you do develop athlete’s foot (you’ll know by the red,
itchy skin between your toes), pick up some anti-fungal
cream as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the worse
the problem will get and the longer it will take to get rid of
it. Micatin relieves the itching, scaling, burning discomfort
of athlete’s foot and ringworm, too.
