NEARLY 100 CAMPERS ENJOYED A HOT, breezy day April 19 at Admiral Farragut Academy in St. Petersburg as they participated in the launch event for the RecruitBomb-FNF Magazine Camp
Series. After five hours of throwing, catching, blocking and
running, the event achieved its goal of providing student-athletes an opportunity to gain knowledge before they began
the spring football period.
“It could not have turned out much better as far as I’m
concerned,” camp director Corey Long said. “The goal was to
make it a very educational, instructional camp; one that could
benefit any player regardless of their current level of play.”
Soon after the camp ended several participants took to
social media to discuss the event, including defensive line
MVP Eli Morris from Tampa Robinson and offensive line MVP
Samuel Baker from Admiral Farragut.
“It was an honor to come out and compete with you guys
yesterday, I look forward to returning to your camps,” Morris
tweeted.
“I came. I saw. And I learned. Thank you @fnfmag for the
camp. I will definitely use what I’ve been taught,” Baker wrote.
Among the other award winners was Haines City’s dynamic
dual-threat quarterback Tybilrius Eaton, who ran a 4.65-sec-
ond 40-yard dash and edged out Orlando Christian Prep’s
Connor Marchionda for the Golden Arm award.
Wekiva High School’s Brandon Johnson and Lake Gibson’s
Jeconiah Jones shared the honors at the defensive back
position while Shawn O’ Gorman took home the top award at
the offensive skill positions.
